Freshman Ayden Salas was nominated for Student of the Month by his science teacher, Mr. Max Diaz.
Mr. Diaz shared that Ayden “has shown an incredible growth this school year in his academics and his work ethic.”
When Ayden found out that he won this award he shared, “I feel amazing, I encourage all of my peers to work as hard as I did.”
However what makes Ayden an exceptional student is not just his success in academics, but also his compassion and his charming personality.
In March, a new student was introduced to his environmental science class, and Salas was the first student to jump in and put in effort to make the student feel more comfortable.
The main reason Ayden was nominated for student of the month was because Mr. Diaz, “saw Ayden take it upon himself to go over to the new student, introduce himself, and sit with him for a short time.”
After he did this, the student was a lot more comfortable in class and started working with Salas’s group.
“It genuinely warmed my heart to see Ayden helping this new student feel welcomed,” Mr. Diaz concluded. “I know it made a big difference.”
Ayden believes he won this award because he tried to “help everyone in his class do the best they can do.”
He cares not just about himself and his own success in class, but he is also willing to help others at all times.
Fun facts about Ayden:
He plays football and enjoys going fishing with his friends.
