Ms. Keri Sutton was nominated for Staff Member of the month in her content area of Social Studies. Sutton was nominated by Ms. Jamie Cawley, for her hard work and consistent high-quality of instruction throughout all of her courses from history to criminal justice.
Ms. Sutton expressed her gratitude and appreciation for receiving this award. She has been here at Lakeland since 2007, just around 18 years! She holds lots of great memories here, and said a favorite memory of hers would definitely be, “coming back to school with my desk filled with memes and post-it’s from students!” Just being around students in general and creating a bond with the staff is another highlight of working at Lakeland.
Overall, this hard-working educator’s favorite part of her department is her colleagues, as Sutton expressed, “everyone I work with is awesome.”
Cawley also praised Ms. Sutton saying, “she is always willing to lend a helping hand to colleagues and the department as a whole, making her not just an outstanding teacher but an exceptional teammate.”
Aside from teaching, Sutton mentioned some fun facts about herself such as having fenced in college and still being heavily involved in the sport. She is also into F1 car racing!
