The Student of the Month for October is junior Josh Jaquez for his involvement and participation in Social Studies.
Jaquez’s AP US History teacher, Mr Rich Wiley, nominated him for the award due to his “true love for history,” and the fact that Josh “is highly analytical and often provides graduate level responses when questions are posed to him.”
Mr. Wiley also said that “Josh’s eagerness to contribute to class in a positive manner is truly unmatched, and his commitment to his own learning and the learning of his classmates is admirable.”
Jaquez has been highly dedicated to his history studies and said that he was “very proud and happy to receive this award.”
When asked about his dedication to Social Studies, Josh said that it was because “it’s a class I like a lot and I always try to work hard in it. The teaching, my classmates, and the class itself make for a good working environment.”
Jaquez also said that he is thinking of doing something in the realm of social studies later in life as he decides upon his future major and career.
Jaquez runs on the cross-country team and enjoys watching the UFC.
