Ms. Jamie Haftek-Shopshear was nominated for Staff Member of the Month by Ms. Audrey Poggioli for her commitment to Special Education. 

Ms. Poggioli stated that Ms. Haftek-Shopshear is a “cheerleader both in spirit and through her actions” and said she creates a very safe and comfortable environment for all Lakeland students, especially those with special needs.

She also said that Ms. Haftek Shopshear is, “the kind of educator who makes our school stronger, kinder, and more connected.” 

After hearing that she won this award Ms. Haftek-Shopshear shared that she felt, “Excited, Happy, and Proud to be Lancer.” 

Ms. Haftek-Shopshear has spent a lot of time here at Lakeland and when asked to share her favorite memories, she just couldn’t pick. She has had many different and wonderful experiences here, “from being a student, to an aid, to a teacher.” 

She also shared that her favorite part of her department is “teaching teenagers to be independent young adults.” 

Fun Facts: Ms. Haftek-Shopshear has four kids ranging from ages 20 to 3. She loves spending time with her family.
