The squad had an amazing season – coming back stronger than ever from last year due to strong leadership and spirit.

With the end of the fall season comes the end of the fall cheerleading for the year. But do not let this upset you – the 2021 fall cheer season was one to remember.

According to Coach Nicole DeCarlo, the team had a “great season.” While the previous season was greatly impacted by COVID-19, causing the team to miss out on opportunities, this season gave the Lancers a taste of normalcy again. The team got to travel to away games again this season, which they were unable to do so last year.

The team truly made the most of their season this year, bringing back “some old traditions.” This allowed the team to not only try something new, but helped the Lancers have as much fun as they possibly could.

It is fantastic that the cheerleaders had such an exciting season, considering the team has multiple seniors graduating this upcoming year. Captains and seniors Hailie Tritschler, Kate McCormack, Victoria Trentacosta, and Erika Fajen did an “excellent job leading their team each game,” ending their Lakeland fall cheerleading careers on a great note.

Coach DeCarlo is quite excited for next year’s season. In an interview with The Lancer Ledger, Coach DeCarlo explained how she “hopes to do [the] fall cheer clinic again.” But that is not all – the cheerleaders have a new idea brewing and are ready to “surprise” their Lakeland community.

It is safe to say that the 2021 fall cheer season was one for the books. The Lakeland community congratulates the incredible team on a great season and wishes the seniors best of luck on their future endeavors.
