The Detroit Pistons’ season has launched off to a great start, going from the worst record in basketball two years ago, not to mention a 28-game losing streak, to boosting up to 44 wins at the number five seed, to now leading the Eastern Conference in wins. It is undeniable that the Pistons have been massively improving every year. This can be attributed to both Cade Cunningham and the supporting cast behind him, primarily Jalen Duran, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, and Jaden Ivey. Each is currently averaging the following stats.
While there are other contributors to the team’s success, these are the main five players who have led the Pistons to a 16-4 record over the season so far. Now if we look back through Pistons history, we will find an interesting stat. The Pistons have never won more than 10 games in a row since the 2008-2009 season, but interestingly in that season, they ended up with a 39-43 record along with a first round playoff exit via the Cavaliers, who still had Lebron at the time. So will the newfound success of the team lead to more success in the playoffs, or a disappointing season despite an impressive start? We’ll just have to wait and see.
The OKC Thunder look like they are going for a second championship, starting the season 20-1, with their only loss against the Portland Trailblazers, so needless to say that they are the best team in the NBA right now. First is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander coming off an MVP season, and a championship against the Pacers. They seem like they are going for a second one, with SGA playing at MVP-level again. With a supporting cast consisting of Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and Isaiah Hartenstein, it’s not hard to see why.

Add on to this the fact that the Thunder have a promising, young talent on their team in Ajay Mitchel, and it’s not hard to see why they won the NBA finals. They have a promising season ahead of them and the future of the franchise looks bright.
