Julia Wells let the racquet do the talking with this amazing move.

The Lakeland Regional High School’s girls varsity tennis team had a 2021 season of victories and defeats, but it was full of memorable moments.

Coach Mr. Rich Wiley told The Lancer Ledger about which event really stood out this season: outstanding player, senior Amanda Todd, beating Wayne Hills, knocking them out of the county tournament. Coach Wiley called it a “definitely unforgettable” moment.

In terms of the season overall, Coach Wiley said it was really successful, as the team showed  great improvement, not to mention the lot of fun with energetic and motivated players.

This season, which ended on October 31, had 15 entertaining games of which two were wins against rival West Milford and one against the strong Passaic Valley. Coach Wiley credits and thanks players Todd, senior Julia Wells, junior Katja Eckerle, and junior Danielle Reid, who were outstanding this season and did their best on the court.

The team has great expectations for next year’s season, Coach Wiley said, “We hope to continue seeing improvement and some new varsity players.”
