Peter Diaz – Soccer

Peter credits his favorite coach, Don Peterfriend, for helping him become the player he is. He said that coach Peterfriend “gave him the advice to get 1% better each day as pre-season and the season went on.”

Peter said Coach Peterfriend treated him like he was his own son, and that he always looked out for what was best for Peter, even if he disagreed with coach.

Coach Peterfriend was there for Peter through the thick and thin, wins and losses.

 

Ashley Fales – Lacrosse

Ashley (aka Nebraska) came into Lakeland her senior year and joined varsity lacrosse – a sport new to her. Ashley’s advice is to work hard and don’t give up – always try to do more if you want to move up and succeed in sports. However, she says to always have fun with it because your last high school game will be here before you know it.

Her favorite memory is getting hit in the at the game against DePaul.

Madison Gunn – Volleyball

Madison was captain of the varsity volleyball in her senior year. Her favorite memory was beating West Milford in the Pink-Out and making fun of the coaches during that specific game ;).

Madison made a lot of close friends through her volleyball career. She said that “it was nice befriending people that I’ve never even seen in the halls prior to the season,” as she describes the large amount of underclassmen she got to know this last season. She credits them teamwork and bonds formed as the key to the team’s success.

 

Connor Powers – Hockey

Connor was proud to be a part of the LRHS ice hockey team. He says his favorite memory from over the years is celebrating on the bus and rocking out to “Love Story” by T. Swift.

Adonai Thompson – Wrestling

Adonai played football, wrestling, and lacrosse throughout his high school career. His advice is to keep working hard and don’t give up if you want to make it far in athletics.

His favorite sport was wrestling because, “It was challenge to stay in shape and taught me a lot about self discipline.”

 

Tyler Tuminski and Anthony Fattorusso – Baseball

A favorite memory from this year’s season was beating West Milford in counties 4 to 1 with 9 strike outs. According to Tyler, “Fatty pitched “a dime.”
