Sophomore Logan Leeds was nominated as the November Student of the Month for Instrumental Music by LRHS’ Band Director Mr. Matthew Testa. Mr. Testa explained that his nomination was due to Leeds elevating “his commitment to the Lancer Band tremendously over the past several months.” In this time, Leeds has earned a position as a section leader, consistently modelled improved practice habits, and performed several successful solos in recent concerts. To end off his nomination, Mr. Testa said, “I look forward to watching his future progress.”
Leeds was interviewed by the Lancer Ledger to get his reaction to receiving the award. Leeds explained, “I was surprised considering I didn’t really know that it was a thing.” Leeds then explains that the favorite part of the class is “the freedom in practice” and how much time they are given to do so.
