Senior Alexa Goll was nominated as November’s Student of the Month for her excellent athletics by the Athletic Director, Mr. Richard Suchanski, and her head coach, Mr. Damiano Conforti. Alexa starred for the Lancers’ cross country team, as she qualified for the Group championships in Holmdel and placed top 30 in these Championships. Alexa was also a captain on the team.
When asked about receiving Student of the Month honors, Alexa told the Ledger that she was “surprised since [she] was told very unexpectedly, but [she] felt very happy in the moment.” Alexa gave credit to Coach Conforti and her teammates, saying that her “favorite part of [Cross Country] is the bond and friendships [she has] made with the people on the team.” Alexa didn’t start running until her sophomore year of high school, but she told the Ledger that in every sport she played growing up “the running part” was her favorite. She is also the oldest, and only girl of four kids in her family.
