Junior Kate Petri was nominated for Student of the Month by Mr. Matthew Testa for her dedicated work in vocal music. Mr. Testa described Patri as a “consistent and strong voice in our chorus.” Her efforts to better her performance and to help the program grow “serves as an example to future Lancers.” Petri most recently played Ms. Norbury in the all-school production of “Mean Girls.”

Petri expressed excitement and a sense of pride about her nomination for the award. She feels Mr. Testa chose her for this honor because of her constant “hard work and dedication to the music program.” She told the Ledger, “I love being part of the chorus and theater at Lakeland” and that she has “made a lot of good friends through these groups.” Petri is not only excelling in her vocal performance, but is a member of the varsity swim team and has performed in a Lakeland musical every year, with a total of 5 productions while in high school.
