Junior Collin Sabric was nominated Student of the Month by Mr. Ryan McCarney for his outstanding work in athletics. Mr. McCarney, LRHS’ head football coach, said that Sabric was a leader for our football team this season, with his “composure and cool personality” that allowed the team to have “an unforgettable run.” Sabric led the LRHS football team in what some are calling the biggest upset in Lakeland football history, a 33-28 win over Caldwell, ending their 37 game winning streak. Sabric played a major role in the team’s success, including in the state section championship for the fifth time with throwing 310 yards, and having four touchdowns.
Sabric expressed that he was surprised he was receiving Student of the Month. Sabric shared, “My favorite part of football was being with my teammates all week long then to go out on the field and do everything we practiced through the week.”
