Lana Del Rey is known for her alternative music style, but she recently announced that she’s switching to country music. Her new album is titled Lasso and will be released in September 2024.

According to Hollywood Life, news of the upcoming album was mentioned at a Billboard event. “If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening,” she said. Lasso will be Lana Del Rey’s tenth studio album, and her fourth album released in the past three years.

Lasso is destined for success, as Lana Del Rey is a recurring name on the Billboard charts. She’s had nine top ten appearances on the chart, including two number one hits. This includes Ultraviolence which was released in 2014, and Lust for Life which was released in 2017. Her ninth studio album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, was nominated for nine Grammys, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album.

Lana Dey Rey revealed information regarding the production of Lasso: the album will be released through Interscope and Polydor Records. Plus, Jack Antonoff, well known for working with Taylor Swift, and Luke Laird are working together as producers. Antonoff has worked with Lana Del Rey since her sixth album, Norman F***ing Rockwell!

Fans are interested in seeing Lana Del Rey switch up the genre and create different styles of songs.
