A great playful season from this year’s girls tennis team.

This year for the Lakeland Regional High Schools girls tennis team proved to come back better and stronger than before. The Lancers created many fun memories and exciting moments this season, and came out with a record of 6-9. They had also qualified for state tournaments this year, which was super exciting for the team.

In an interview with the Lancer Ledger, junior Reianna Marquez said, “All of our players this season did an outstanding job including all the seniors, juniors, sophomores, and especially the new freshmen players and senior captains.”

Some of the girl’s most memorable games this season were against Fair Lawn, Passaic Valley, and Vernon where they won against Passaic Valley 4-1, and Vernon 4-1.

The team played against West Milford for senior night, and even though they may have lost, it was still a great experience for the team. Junior player Katherine Gisel said, “Even though we lost it was an accomplishment because they are a really good team and we were close to beating them.”

Next season for the team, the Lancers are hoping to win more county championships, and hopefully qualify for states again. The team looks forward to the future and another promising season.
