Freshman Nathan Schouten is Lakeland’s March Student of the Month for Science. Mr. Michael Kelly, Schouten’s biology teacher, shared that he always gives 100% in the class, working to his full potential.
On receiving this honor, Schouten shared, “At first I was shocked and in awe, but after succumbing to the news, I felt a huge wave of [gratitude] and pride.” He also shared that he loves biology, and brings a lot of enthusiasm to the class.
A fun fact about Schouten: he is a competitive swimmer who is currently ranked top 10 in the state!
