When most people think about spring break they think of hanging out with their friends and going to parties. However, what about the people that just want to stay in and watch movies? Here are 6 shows and movies if you’re looking forward to being a couch potato:
The Outer Banks: The Outer Banks takes place in South Carolina and focuses on the mysteries of sunken shipwrecks and lost cities. In the series, a group of brave teens from humble beginnings venture away from home to find treasure using clues left behind by one of the characters’ dads. Along the way, they discover things about each other that they wish would have stayed hidden.
This show is perfect for people who enjoy summer and the aesthetic that comes with it.
The Hunger Games: The Hunger Games is a dystopian movie that takes place more than one-hundred years in the future and revolves around the main character, Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old girl. In their society, they have regions called districts, and each district is supposed to be in charge of one thing. For example, District 12 is in charge of coal mining. Every year they host an annual reaping where they pick two tributes (boy and girl) to represent their district in the Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta, a bakery worker, are selected to participate in the games. In the game, they are tasked to kill to survive.
This movie series is suitable for movie buffs who like plot twists and gore. And a plus… there are 3 movies in the series to follow!
Interstellar: Interstellar is a movie set in the future about the earth and how it was deteriorating. The main character, Cooper, was asked to participate in the continuation of a series of missions. The goal of these missions is to find a new habitable planet that could sustain human life. Along the way, they discovered an issue with these missions, like how to get from earth to galaxies light-years away.
This movie is good for people who like space exploration.
Gilmore Girls: The show Gilmore Girls takes place in a small town named Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The two main characters are Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore. Lorelai Gilmore is a single mother who got pregnant during her teen years and then after having the baby, she found her own way in life and made a very nice life for herself. Rory Gilmore is the daughter of Lorelai Gilmore and is a very intelligent young woman. Towards the beginning of the show, Rory Gilmore begins her journey at a new school named Chilton, where, throughout the series, she finds drama, friends, and romantic relationships. However, along the way she faces many hardships that her friends and mom help her solve.
Gilmore Girls is a perfect show for someone who likes drinking coffee early in the morning when you can still see the sunrise; it’s a very aesthetic show and still has a huge following.
Stranger Things: The show Stranger Things has made its way into the hearts of many by combining the past with supernatural monsters and powers. The main group of characters discover that one of their friends is missing. They later make a plan to go looking for him and in the process they discover a girl with supernatural powers. These characters form a bond that cannot be broken. They band together to stop evil monsters.
This show is perfect for those who want to go back to their childhood and experience the simpler things in life, while fighting a Demogorgon and Shadow Monster.
Greys Anatomy: The show Greys Anatomy follows the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings, including its namesake, Meredith Grey. Greys also has a variety of characters that face medical-based challenges on a daily basis. The show takes a look at these characters as they develop into wonderful doctors. This show gives people a reliable medical vocabulary and often sparks interest in careers in the medical field for certain people, while mixing in lots of romance and drama.
Grey’s is also perfect for people who want to pursue a medical career and like a lot of drama.
