Lakeland Regional High School’s boys cross country team finished a “rebuilding” year with a solid 4-4 record.

Coach George Lutz was proud of his team’s accomplishments this season, as they continue to improve and rebuild. He stated that the team ran well at state sectionals.

Coach Lutz stated the boys cross country team’s goal was to qualify for the State Group Meet, which was accomplished by runner and captain Jesse Campoverde, junior at LRHS.

Campoverde, who sat down with The Ledger, gave us his goals for the team next season. He said, “One thing I want to improve for next season is our strides and pace, in order for the team to make better progress. [It would be great to get]  our top 5 [runners] under 18 minutes, and the others under 19:30 [in a 5k].

“But overall,” Jesse continued, “the team did amazing this season, and I can’t wait to start the season all over again next
