Lady Lancers Soccer: A United 2022 Season
The Lakeland Regional High School girls varsity soccer team had a decent 2022 season, with a record of 8-10, while averaging an impressive two to three goals a game.
This season, the team celebrated some big wins, like the 6-0 game against Passaic Valley. The Lady Lancers also proudly made it to the NJSIAA State Tournament; however, they were eliminated in the first round by Pascack Hills.
Another hard loss for the team was the 1-6 game against Wayne Hills.
According to Coach Rick Capozzi, some key players this soccer season were senior Morgan Deady, senior Sarah Lustig, and sophomore Natalie Centurione. Coach Capozzi shared that each of these players contributed to the team in their own, unique way.
According to Assistant Coach Chris Chouljian, the team united this season. Throughout the wins and losses they always had each other’s backs and always picked themselves up.
Coach Chouljian hopes for the team to improve throughout the next season and earn more state wins, while still having a good time and being their best selves.
