Nothing is better than a great smile, and freshman Derek Mena has the greatest of them all! Ms. Jamie Haftek nominated Mena for Student of the Month for many reasons, one of them being he “is always smiling.” Mena has transitioned phenomenally from middle school, embracing new challenges and discovering new passions. In fact, through his music class, Mena has learned that he has “perfect pitch” and knows quite a bit about music. He is a very artistic, positive student, and Ms. Haftek could not have been more excited to nominate him for this award.
