An animal’s purpose shouldn’t be to be tested on for our sake, nor should they be locked up all day.

After all of these years, the beauty industry continues to test their products on animals. Your favorite moisturizer, face wash or sunscreen could all come at the cost of an innocent animal’s life. Luckily there is a way to help put an end to animal testing.

For the longest time, several companies have tested their products on animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, mice and many more. Recently, a TikTok account, @ralph_the_rabbit, had posted some videos describing what happens to animals that get tested on, and those videos opened many eyes. The accounts’ videos showed a day in the life of Ralph the Rabbit, an animal that gets tested on. Throughout the videos he says it’s his job and he’s proud to help us humans, but it is clear that a lot of damage is being done to him. Because of this, the videos went viral.

There are plenty of cruelty free brands that have completely safe products. Sadly, they aren’t as popular or cheap as the ones that do happen to test on animals. Some familiar brands that test on animals include Colgate, Aveeno, CeraVe, OPI, and Old Spice. This of course isn’t all of them, the full list can be found on Cruelty- Free Kitty .

To help you can start by avoiding these products and replace them with ones that are cruelty free. For example two great replacements for Colgate are Hello Products and Tom’s of Maine. A substitute product for Aveeno moisturizer could be Hempz lotion. Some other great cruelty free brands include: elf, Dr. Teals, The Beauty Shop, and even the infamous Kylie Cosmetics and KKW Beauty. There are of course a ton more that can be found on Cruelty- Free Kitty. Not only does this product smell great but that brand doesn’t test on animals.

To spot a cruelty free product, search for this symbol on the back of a product. There are tons of brands that you can begin to use instead of the ones that continue to cause harm to animals.

Protecting these animals should be a priority. We’ve already caused enough harm in the past, so it’s time to make up for that. No product should ever cost the life of an animal. We wouldn’t want to cause harm to our precious pets at home, so why continue to let it happen to others.
