LRHS Live Concert: A Beacon of Hope
Lakeland Regional High School Lancer Band and Jazz Band brought back one of the first in-person band concerts since the pandemic struck, featuring Lakeland Regional High School Lancer Band and Jazz Band on the LRHS athletic field on April 22, 2021. The performers included Lakeland and Wanaque Tri-M members and featured Broadway songs from well known shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, The Music Man, and Aladdin.
Emily Rose, senior and president of the Lakeland chapter of
Tri-M, told The Ledger that those involved have worked long and hard as playing in a band in these pandemic times can be especially challenging.
Sophomore and Tri-M member Nicole LaDuke shared that the band faced delays due to the occasional bad weather, social distancing, and quarantine after spring break. But through it all, members triumphed and delivered an amazing concert to the community.
After preparing for a long time and experiencing a delay in March, the concert was a huge success. The show showed off the participant’s dedication and hard work, as their goal was to be able to give the community a chance to experience live music again and enjoy it to its fullest capacity, according to Rose.
Stay tuned for another live performance at the end of the year.
