Lakeland received two new water bottle filling stations thanks to a thoughtful parent who took the time to enter the Back In Gear Sweepstakes in Parents magazine back in September 2018 on behalf of LRHS.

Mr. Paul Cook, parent to freshmen Jason Cool and junior Kelly Cook, entered the contest 6 months before Lakeland was notified of winning in March of 2019. Along with LRHS, 4 other schools throughout the country also won the grand prize, two Elkay EZH20 systems that retail up to $6,456.

Students and staff alike are thrilled with the new filling stations, which is installed with a filter and cooling system that supplies fresh, clean, and chilled water. Additionally, the filling stations promote the use of reusable water bottles, which brings down plastic bottle waste.

Thank you to the Cook family for the new water bottle filling stations!
