They’re back! America’s Got Talent: The Champions premiered on Monday, January 7, 2019, bringing back former winners and unique acts from Got Talent shows around the world. One former contestant captured the attention of everyone that night, singer Susan Boyle. She returned after winning second place on Season 3 of “Britain’s Got Talent” nearly a decade ago in 2009.

Since her win, Boyle has sold over 20 million records. According to the USA Today article “‘AGT: The Champions’: Susan Boyle’s powerful return to the stage earns a Golden Buzzer,” Boyle “credits the show with helping her ‘fulfill the dream I’ve had since I was 5.’”

While on The Champions, Boyle competed against nine other acts. Her rendition of “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones was the standout performance of the night, receiving a standing ovation from the audience and judges.

Simon Cowell, judge on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, said of Boyle’s performance, “I can’t think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than you.” He also saw Boyle when she auditioned with “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables nearly 10 years ago.

Former Spice Girl Mel B., another judge, also commented on Boyle’s performance. Before rewarding her by pushing the Golden Buzzer, which advanced Boyle to finals, she said, “What an absolute honor and pleasure it is to be sitting here and listening to you (and) your angelic voice. And I want to be the woman who gives you something you deserve.”

While on Got Talent, Boyle was and is an inspiration to millions. She told her fans, “For those who don’t have the confidence to do things, for those who don’t have a voice (and) the ones who people tend to ignore”.
