Freshman Alexis Gonzalez was awarded for Student of the Month for her work in Social Studies.
Alexis was nominated by her history teacher, Mr. Joseph Placenti, for her “hard work, determination, and time on task” in class. Mr Placenti also stated that Alexis is “a constant positive contributor”.
He went on to say that Alexis takes on academic challenges while also participating in color guard at LRHS, fencing in a local club, and playing harp and piano in her spare time.
Mr. Placenti also mentioned her critical thinking and time management skills, adding that Alexis is “a pleasure to know”.
After receiving this award Alexis says that she was “very proud” and “glad her hard work is being acknowledged.”
Alexis also believes that she got this award because she tries to “help other students” and always attempts to “go above and beyond.”
Fun Facts about Alexis:
She fences for a club and is planning to fence for Lakeland and she plays multiple instruments.
