Where did you teach previously? Did you have any other job before you were a teacher?
Before coming to Lakeland, I worked in Newark NJ and Paterson NJ.
What is your overall impression of Lakeland so far? How is Lakeland different compared to other district you worked at?
I love Lakeland! I am excited about the smaller environment and the passion and dedication I see from both my new coworkers and my students, but I am very excited to have my own parking spot!
What’s one thing students can expect in your classroom that might surprise them?
I spend less time lecturing than one might expect from a history teacher.
What do you hope to bring to Lakeland’s teaching staff and the school in general?
Coming from teaching in Paterson and Newark, I hope to bring a unique perspective and set of experiences that can add to Lakeland’s staff, while continuing to support students, colleagues, and the school community as a whole.
How would you describe the culture here at Lakeland at first glance?
From my first impression, the culture at Lakeland feels welcoming and student-centered. There seems to be a strong sense of community here, where staff work together to support students not only academically, but also in their personal growth. It feels like a place that values collaboration, school pride, and making sure students have opportunities to succeed.
What makes you most excited about being a part of the LRHS community?
I’m most excited about the chance to be part of a close-knit school community where I can contribute to both student success and the overall school culture. I look forward to bringing my experiences to Lakeland while also learning from colleagues and becoming part of the traditions and pride that make LRHS special.
What extracurricular activities were you involved in when you were in high school? Are there any sports/clubs you can see yourself getting involved in at LRHS?
I was/am an avid equestrian and practitioner of martial arts since childhood.
