The popular Six Flags ride Kingda Ka has officially been removed from the parks. According to USA Today, Kingda Ka was the tallest ride at Six Flags standing at 456 ft tall breaking records for the fastest and tallest ride, and going as fast as 128 mph. The ride was introduced to Six Flags back in 2005 and quickly became very popular, Kingda Ka has carried over 12 million riders. On November 14, 2024 Six Flags sadly announced the removal of the ride, the ride was officially removed on February 28,2025.
Even though Kingda Ka was very popular and a ride you couldn’t miss on when visiting, Six Flags decided to remove it to make room for bigger and better rides. Unfortunately to do this Six Flags had to remove other rides such as Green Lantern, Twister, Parachute Drop, and Sky Way, these are said to be removed later this year. In replace of these rides Six Flags plans to introduce a new ride called “The Flash Vertical Velocity” which is said to arrive next year. This ride is said to go 59 mph launching visitors both forward and backwards, this ride is expected to break many world records in 2026.
Six Flags won’t be the same without Kingda Ka, but it will be bringing better and funner rides to the parks visitors can look forward to.
