“GREASE is the word” at this year’s musical at Lakeland Regional High School. The electrifying musical Grease was performed by Lakeland’s talented students, led by director Mr. Matthew Testa, on March 6-8, 2025.
Audience members loved the strong performances, which was evident in the happiness on everyone’s smiling faces and standing ovations. One element that really stood out as the showstopper was the choreography, aweing viewers with moves that left them disbelieving they were watching a high school show and not one on Broadway.

Cast members, who had great chemistry, told the Lancer Ledger some of the best parts of being in Grease. Freshman Joaquin Fernandez, who played Roger, said, “Meeting all the new people and being able to come together and create something.” Junior Kieran Guzman, who played Sonny, had such a great time he said, “I wish we could do more shows [this year] because I can’t believe it’s over!” Maggie McGinty, a freshman who played Frenchy, was excited to be a part of a show she has always loved. On being on stage at LRHS, she said, “I’ve done shows in the past and each time I enjoy it more and more.”

For students interested in joining what will be another spectacular production next year, Fernandez said “First, you would obviously audition. You would need to memorize a song and say a monologue. Then in around a week, you would get your role!.”
After such a great production, the Lakeland community is counting the days to see next year’s production.
