Mr. Chris Chouljian is the Staff Member of the Month of February for history.
Mr. Chouljian was nominated by Ms. Jamie Cawley, humanities supervisor, for the high amounts of “energy passion and positivity [that he brings to] every corner of the school.” Ms. Cawley also says, “Whether he’s engaging students in the classroom, leading extracurricular activities, or fostering school spirit his dedication is truly inspiring.”
Mr. Chouljian has been at Lakeland for four years and says that he felt “surprised and fantastic” when receiving the reward. Mr.Chouljian has been described as being a “mentor, coach, and role model who is always willing to support and uplift those around him.”
When asked what his favorite part of being at Lakeland was, Mr. Chouljian says, “I like to create engaging lessons where students are involved.” Mr. Chouljian continues, “I like teaching my AP government class as I feel that my students will apply the information that they learn as they become educated voters.”
Some fun facts about Mr. Chouljian is that he travels up to two hours every Saturday to go hiking. He also likes playing Minecraft, and according to fellow history teacher, Mr. Rich Wiley, he “never dies.”
