Lakeland Regional High School girls varsity basketball is having a strong 2024-2025 season with some awesome wins and a 14-8 record.
According to senior and captain Gianna Peralta they have exciting potential ending the season well, with counties, states, and conferences. The team lost in the quarter final of counties and the first round in states, the team had a phenomenal season and story. Part of the success of this season is that they had more chemistry than last year, and flipped the start of the season record from 1-7 to 7-1.
The team feels the season is also going very well and is meeting their expectations. DePaul Catholic and West Milford were two of the toughest teams played this season, resulting in close games that ended in defeat for Lakeland.

The team as a whole worked hard for this season. Two players that stood out and helped bring this success were Peralta, sophomore Amelia Guardascione, and sophomore Madison Kelly.
The girls team is losing three seniors, Peralta, Jasmine Star, and Skye Poliey. They were a great asset to the team the last four years. According to Peralta, who started playing basketball in first grade says she will most likely not continue basketball in college but will play lacrosse which she is also amazing at. Poliey, after playing basketball since fifth grade says she will also not be continuing basketball in college.
LRHS is looking forward to what the girls bring next year.
