With the cold weather ebbing out and a taste of spring in the air, students and staff members alike are looking to shed their winter coats and stress of school, work, and sports. On the minds of many is one word: vacation. Take a look at these vacation spots locally, in the country, and around the world.
Local Vacations
New Jersey is a diverse state with a lot of attractions. If you don’t want to go far from home, try looking at these resorts:
Crystal Spring Resort: this beautiful resort has two locations, Minerals Hotel Verno, and Grand Cascade Lodge, and is located a mere 40 minutes away in Hamburg. Both resorts are really relaxing and have very similar activities, with options such as dining, indoor/outdoor pools, photo galleries, and amenities, including fantastic spas.
Ocean Casino Resort: The Ocean Casino, in Atlantic City, has a lot of wonderful options to choose from in the resort. There are plenty of rooms and suites; along with casinos (for your parent chaperones), dining, entertainment, spas, pools, and plenty more to keep you busy and relaxed.

The Wildwood Piers: Although this is not a resort or spa, there are plenty nearby! Located throughout Wildwood, Morey’s Pier, Mariner’s Amusement Pier and Surfside Beach Fishing Pier offer amusement parks, beautiful beach views, and a ton to do. The boardwalk has a wide variety of shops, booths, games, and lots of restaurants. Although the rides may not open until ‘unofficial start to summer’ in May, the area offers great things to do, and will not be as crowded during the April spring break week. Going in the summer? Morey’s Pier is the largest out of the three. Mariner’s Pier is located on the northern boardwalk and offers the classic roller coaster rides. Surfside Pier is the smallest pier out of the three, but it has plenty of exciting offers, like roller coasters, Flitzer and lots of restaurants to choose from.
U.S.A. Vacas
There are lots of tourist attractions within the states. Here are some of the best if you’re looking to travel far, but not that cross an ocean:
Los Angeles: This California hotspot is warm and beautiful. L.A. has so many tourist attractions, such as the Hollywood Sign, the Walk of Fame, cultural diversity, music, and the Grammy Museum among plenty of other fun tourist attractions. There are many beautiful houses, condos, and apartments that citizens of L.A., along with celebrities, tend to live in, which makes even driving around an adventure.

San Diego: Still want to travel across the country but to a more relaxing and tranquil part of California? Then San Diego, with its nearly perfect weather, stunning beaches, and laid back lifestyle, is the place for you. San Diego has great attractions like Legoland, Gasland Quarter, Petco Park, Sunset Cliff, Avocado Farms and many more marvels to choose from. Black’s Beach, which is right on the coast of San Diego, is the definition of gorgeous, crystal clear water that goes well with California’s amazing views. And not to mention, Seaport Village is near Bayview and has casual dining, events, shopping and more. There are many plans for condos, hotels, Airbnb, and apartments where you can stay in San Diego.
New York City: “The City that Never Sleeps” may be a stone’s throw away, but it’s still a place many locals rarely get to explore. New York City is known for the Statue of Liberty, Broadway, the Brooklyn Bridge (walk it on a nice day!), Empire State Building, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Time Square, and art. One underrated spot for music fans is the Whitney Houston Museum, which has a wide variety of art pieces, from painting to sculpture, there are 26,000 works and more. Overall, New York City has so much to offer that you can fit a trip to any budget.
Vacations Around the World
There are so many beautiful places around the world, the list could go on forever. Here are three diverse locations you may want to add to your bucket list:
Egypt: With its many historical and cultural sites, it’s also gorgeous and peaceful there. They have a variety of cities and deserts, with sites to see: the Nile River and the Pyramids of Giza. The pyramids are a good place to start or end your vacation; it’s a lot of walking but it’s truly magnificent. The size of the blocks made to build the pyramids is breathtaking. Along with the pyramids, there is the Sphinx, the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, mummies, Abu Simbel, and history of pharaohs and hieroglyphics to explore in the desert of Egypt. In Egypt you can visit the White Desert, which is white sand rock formation. Cairo and Alexandra are great cities to stay in when planning your tours.

France: A delightful country with its landmarks, food and drinks, and fashion. French landmarks are the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Mont Blanc Disneyland Paris, and the French Riviera. The Eiffel Tower and Paris, which is the capital of France, have to be the first thing you must think about when thinking of France. There is so much to do and see there, including the Louvre Museum, a beautiful national museum in Paris. The French Riviera, in southeast France, includes a glamorous view of the beaches, luxury yachts, and opulent casinos. As well as the landmarks, France is also known for the foods and drinks. To be specific, there is cheese, wine, champagne (for the chaperones), French cuisines, baguettes, and croissants. Last but not least, the fashion in France is a vacation unto itself, with Paris being one of the fashion capitals of the world!
The Bahamas: Although it’s a little closer than the destinations listed, you still have to fly over an ocean to get there! The Bahamas is a calm and warm island that has plenty of activities going on. One popular destination is the Rich Marine, a coral reef famous for its vibrant colors, scuba diving, and snorkeling. On top of that, another popular thing to do is to go island hopping, seeing the country’s historical lighthouses and beautiful beachers where the water is crystal clear. They also host some notable beaches, such as Junkanoo Beach, Pink Sand Beach, Cable Beach, and Dean Blue Hole. And you can try the delicacy foods, such as Conch Salad, which is a variation of seafood, vegetables and johnny cakes (which are pancakes).
So this spring or summer you can relax, take a break, and go to your next destination!
