Seamus Burke, senior, is January’s Student of the Month for math. Burke was nominated by math teachers Mr. Dan Thomas, Mr. Rodolfo Rodriguez, Ms. Kristin Dowling, and Ms. Erin Murphy.
Burke was nominated for him having “consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in mathematics throughout his time at Lakeland.” He is an active student of the math class, participating and leading in the class. Burke has taken an all honors math class every year at Lakeland and shown his proficiency in the subject.
Other than being an amazing student Burke is the co-president of the Math League and the Math Honor Society. He has shown he is an excellent leader in organizing events and tutoring other students to improve their math ability.
Some fun facts about Burke: he is the captain of The Ultimate Frisbee Club, and he is an accomplished Eagle Scout.
