The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards was not only influential, but it also made history as many artists won their first ever SAG awards. It was also an iconic night for fashion, with many actors wearing different varieties of styles.
The Awards
Timothee Chalamet, who last night won his very first SAG award, said in his speech, “I was not expecting this at all, truly.” Chalamet was nominated for his star performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. When Chalamet received his award he talked about his dedication and hardwork that went into making this movie, saying, “I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me, but the truth is this was five and a half years of my life.” Many were touched by this speech as this made Chalamet’s the youngest male lead to ever to receive this iconic award.
Selena Gomez and the cast of the show Only Murders in the Building took home the award for best comedy ensemble. Shocked and not expecting the honor, Gomez started her speech with “We never win.” She adds on and says, “ I genuinely am just so grateful [to] everybody, the writers. Everyone deserves this, and I take it home for all of us.”
Many Ariana Grande fans were upset during the SAG Awards as Grande lost all her nominations for her role Glina in the movie Wicked, including best female actor in a supporting role and best cast in a motion picture. Fans pointed out that she looked upset upon losing her fourth nomination for best supporting actress. Despite this, Grande and her boyfriend Ethan Slater made a grand entrance on the runway. Grande wore a pink, hinting at her role of Glinda. People also noticed a romantic moment between the couple, when Slater protected Ariana from demanding fans, saying to Grande “Stay near, this crowd next to me, they are pushing me.”
The Looks
There was lots of variety in the styles of clothing that the people wore at the SAG award ceremony.
Big winner for female actor in a leading role, Demi Moore wore a simple black dress that made a statement. In an all-black gown from Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2025 collection, the dress is seemingly more simple on the outside, yet it is beautiful and it goes well with the Tiffany & Co. jewelry that she wore.
Another actor that dressed more simply was a best female actor in a leading role nominee, Mikey Madison. She wore an amazing silver silk satin bustier column gown that was made by Louis Vuitton. Much similar to Demi Moore, she also accessorized with Tiffany & Co. Jewelry.
Simple elegance was not the look of every attendee. Many decided to reach farther out there with the clothing they dressed in. Jamie Lee Curtis, best female actor in a supporting role nominee, came to the ceremony in a sparkly, sequin-embroidered gown with a feathered bolero (think a big boa with sleeves). With this outfit, she reached out there and changed how some people may view fashion now.
Cynthia Erivo, another best female actor nominee, showed up to the red carpet in a Givenchy Haute Couture Fall Winter 1997 dress. This dress was designed by the label’s at the time creative director Alexander McQueen. This dress reaches from her jawline, all the way down to the floor, and with the fringe, gives off a fashionable scarecrow vibes. She accessorized with rings and earrings by Bucherer Fine Jewelry. Anybody with an eye for fashion could agree that although this dress she wore was odd, it was iconic and she rocked this look better than anybody else could have.
A list on red carpet fashion would not be complete without Chalamet. He wore a Chrome Hearts leather suit and a Cartier bolo tie. But the most odd part about this outfit was a brat green colored button-up polo. This shirt combo contradicted his whole entire outfit, and made him able to stand out in any crowd.
The SAG Awards brought big awards and big fashion, setting up a spot light for the upcoming Oscars.
