Boys varsity basketball had a wipe-out of a 2024-2025 season, but they had so much fun playing and making memories with each other.
Coach Jakarhi Dupree Walker stated,“It was a rough season but there was a lot of growth with the players and their play style.” Led by captains junior Justin Meakem, senior Seth Tyburski, and senior James Aumenta were this season’s captains. They had a lot of good moments later in the season, they started to have some problems that arose out on the court, that they then quickly solved.

Coach Marcus Jimenez’s starters were junior James Hamawi, Meakem, freshman Cole McCrohan, Tyburski, and junior Matthew VanderWeele.
Despite the hardships of the season, the team was excited to spend time with their friends, play basketball, and train for games in the week. For some, like McCrohan, a highlight was making varsity.
Their most successful game was against Bergen Charter. They won that game with a score of 64-46. Everyone was excited and proud to have a win under their belts. Another notable success this season was when forward Joseph Zonis committed to play at Misericordia University.
After a tough season they still had a positive attitude and outlook for next season.
The team wants to thank the basketball booster parents: Michele McCrohan, Aimee McCabe, and Helena Aumenta.
