Donald Trump recently announced his campaign co-chair, Susie Wiles, will serve as his White House chief of staff, making her the first woman to do so.
Wiles has been a longtime ally of president Trump, having helped him win his 2020 and 2024 presidential elections with her being known for being “a formidable behind the scenes political operative,” according to CBS News. Trump chose Wiles because she “just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history.”
Wiles is no stranger to politics. She started her career in politics in the late 1970s, and has helped the president and other politicians get elected into office, including Florida Governor Rick Scott in 2010, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in 2018, and President Trump in 2016 (helping him win Florida).
CBS reports that Wiles leadership style is to stay away from drama, which could indicate more stability in the Trump’s second administration.
Wiles is a native New Jerseyan, being raised in Saddle River.
