To get people in the holiday spirit, New Jersey has brought fun light shows to towns. If you and your friends or family are looking for something fun and inexpensive to do to get you into the holiday spirit, hop in the car to discover some fun holiday light shows.
Demarest Farms in Hillsdale, NJ is hosting a drive-through light show named Orchard of the Lights. It is able to take up to 30 minutes when going for the tour. According to Maddie McGay, from NorthJersey.com, the tour “takes visitors through 32 acres of dazzling light displays, featuring dynamic light tunnels and arches with changing patterns, trees adorned in twinkling lights and a variety of scenes with beloved holiday figures.” Along with the tour, Demarest Farms have their own radio station to go along with the tour so that the Christmas spirit is truly in the air. There is hot chocolate available along with the choice to make s’mores by the fire pit at the end of the tour. To top the experience off, visitors can take pictures with Santa and his reindeer. It is open from now to December 29 and to be able to get into the farm for the Orchard of Lights, reservations must be made online at a cost of $35.00 per car. If you are interested you can visit the website for reservations and for further information to get access to the light show.
Skylands Stadium offers a similarly festive experience with a light show and indoor Christmas Village for $25.00 a car. Described as a “dazzling mile-long drive with over two million lights,” is a must-see holiday event. After the show, patrons are welcome to Christmas Village, which includes more magic with a walkthrough light tunnel and opportunity to meet Jolly Old St. Nick. Check out more details on Skyland Stadium’s website.
The Bergen County Zoo in Paramus is hosting their own light show named Let It Glow! A Holiday Lantern Spectacular. At a cost of $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children, the walk-through light show is a spectacular way to spend your time. McGay wrote that it “features more than 30 traditional Chinese lanterns with a modern twist.” Although the light show is not only Christmas themed, the holiday spirit is still flowing through the town. Along with the light show there are train rides, fire pits, and s’more kits available for all of the enjoyment.
