Kash Patel, who has for a long time called for massive changes inside the FBI, is now President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for the Director of the organization. Here are some of the potential plans rector Patel wants to put in place for the organization.
Patel has been a long time ally of president Trump with their shared criticism of government surveillance and the “deep state.” He is was also one of the few supporters of Trump who accompanied him to the courthouse during the recent criminal case. This close bond is one of the many things that distinguish Patel from other FBI Directors before him.
Another thing tying the two politicians together are the radical plans to upend the bureau, with Patel planning to drastically lessen the power of the FBI and the organizations intelligence gathering activities. He has been quoted saying his plan is to “take the seven thousand employees that work in that building and send them across America to go chase down criminals.” Patel has also made it clear his intentions are to “go out and find the conspirators not just in government but in the media,” especially in regard to the 2020 election in which Joe Biden beat Trump.
Patel’s nomination has earned support from many Trump supporters, especially those who want go against those that do not agree with the Trump administration’s plans.
