Alexander Palmer is an October Student of the Month for social studies.
Palmer, junior, was nominated by Mr. Richard Wiley, AP United States History teacher, for being “an incredibly studious and conscientious student.” Mr. Wiley has pointed out Palmer’s love for history, stating he is both both thoughtful and insightful in his work and questions asked. Lastly, Mr. Wiley praised Palmer for the “energy and enthusiasm” he brings to the class.
Palmer agreed with Mr. Wiley’s observation on his love for history, mentioning that first started in his social studies class last year.
Palmer was first surprised to learn that he got the Student of the Month award, but he soon enough became excited. He suggests that he got the reward for being “dedicated to doing the best, valuing education, [and] being respectful to everyone.” Palmer told the Ledger that his favorite part of history is “notes, having a teacher that makes the class fun, [and] Mr. Wiley having a good personality.”
While Palmer is dedicated to history, he is also interested in the politics of America. On top of excelling in academics, he plays soccer in the fall and track and field in the spring.
