Lakeland Regional High School will be holding its annual 8th Grade Open House and welcoming incoming 9th graders on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Mr. Timothy Conway, Director of School Counseling, sets up the event every year with the goal of showing parents and students what LRHS has to offer. He shared that during this open house, prospective students and families will begin the evening with a short informational presentation before hearing from a panel of LRHS juniors and seniors. In these sessions, expect to hear about the school community, block scheduling, school resources, like extra help, and much more. After that, tours of the schools led by current LRHS students will take place, which includes learning about all the sports, clubs, and activities that Lakeland has to offer future Lancers.
The 8th Grade Open House will run from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
LRHS will also offer Shadow Days, where 8th grade students can spend a day at Lakeland shadowing a current student.
Mr. Conway believes Shadow Days are a great way for prospective students to see whether or not they can feel themselves attending LRHS. “I am a big believer in informed choice, and Shadow Days allow that,” he said.
Upcoming Shadow Days will be held on November 1, December 13, January 24, and February 28. Space is limited for these days, so it’s encouraged for those interested to book early. Reach out to Ms. Donna Cavallaro at 973-835-1900, etx. 124 to sign up.
