The PSAT and Activities Fair is coming up for Lakeland Regional High School students on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Once the PSAT’s are fully finished throughout the school, students will head down to the Cafeteria for lunch or to the East Gym for the Activities Fair.
The PSAT will be given digitally to all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, as well as some seniors. Jamie Crawley, the District Testing Coordinator, shared in a letter sent to student’s homes, “Since the PSAT is administered digitally, it is essential for students to charge their Chromebooks fully and bring them to school.” To make sure all devices are working properly and are able to load up the website for the test, there will be a Digital Readiness Check administered in classes prior to the PSAT.
On taking the test, CollegeBoard writes, “Whether you’re thinking about your college or career options or aren’t sure yet what to do after high school, the PSAT-related assessments can help make your path clearer.”
According to Jamie Cawley, the District Testing Coordinator, students can find their testing location outside of the Media Center, the Lancer Locker, and by the Main Office. They are also able to access testing locations on the Student Hub or here on the Lancer Ledger. The testing locations are organized by last name, so students who have the same last name as someone should make sure to check the first name to see if they are going to be going to the right room.
If a student is a senior and they have been instructed to come to LRHS, they shall do so. Otherwise, no seniors are required to show up to school on October 2.
On the day of the test, when students first walk into school they go straight to their testing rooms to begin the PSAT. Testing goes from 7:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. The rest of the day is broken up into an Activities Fair and lunch period. In the letter sent out, Cawley wrote that at 10:40 a.m. to 11:33 a.m., freshmen and sophomores with last names A-M will have lunch first while juniors and sophomores with last names N-Z will go to the Activities Fair. Then, from 11:33 a.m. to 12:25 p.m., students will switch between lunch and the Activities Fair. All students will be dismissed from school at 12:25 p.m.
There will be transportation available for all students that are coming for the PSATs and Activities Fair.
