Sophomore Charles DeFreese is this April’s Student of the Month for the LEARN/CORE/STEP program. Nominated by Ms. Pamela Roccisano, special education teacher, DeFreese was said to have adapted well to having both a new teacher and new program. Ms. Roccisano continued by saying, “He is also very supportive of other students in the room.”
On receiving this award, DeFreese told the Ledger, “I was filled with joy,” but was a little nervous when he found out he was being called down to the office. He loves being a part of the work-based learning program and shared that the “learning is my favorite part.” On his free time, DeFreese builds fishing poles.
