The Lakeland Tennis team performed below what they were aiming for in this spring season.
Coach Mr. Richard Wiley, LRHS history teacher, explained how although they didn’t perform as well as they had hoped to this season, they put in a lot of effort.
An exceptional moment this season was when the team beat Roxbury 4-1, a splendid victory. Mr. Wiley wanted to highlight the player junior Gavin Raudenbush, who started this year in doubles, and slowly worked his way up in skill to earning a spot in singles matches – competing against opponents who are the best in the league.
As for the future, the LRHS boys tennis team will be looking for more players to join their ranks next year. With new players and a fresh start, they hope to surpass their current record.
