Senior Carter Vargas received Student of the Month for his work in mathematics after being nominated by math teachers Mr. Rudy Rodriguez, Mr. Dan Thomas, and Mr. Andrew Truong. The teachers shared that throughout his time at LRHS, Vargas took and excelled in all honor math courses, including AP Calculus, Geometry Honors, Algebra II Honors, and Pre-Calculus Honors. As current president of the Math League and member of the Math Honor Society, Vargas is described as being a “model student” who is very deserving of this honor.
Vargas said he was surprised to receive this honor, and stated that although Calculus has been challenging, it is also a lot of fun.
